President’s Update

Here we go…… it is 2010 and our meeting schedule is set, our 2010 Business Fair is under construction, our membership has been growing and our Association has continued to make a difference!

The year 2009 saw some changes in the Executive Committee.  Our long time Treasurer, Bill Verbosky and our Secretary, Chrissa Liskai asked to be relieved after years of service.  I know you will all join with me in thanking them again for all of their efforts on behalf of the RBA.  Please also welcome our new Treasurer, Cindy Hollie-Selz and our new Secretary, Brenda Schwind.  I know they will bring energy and dedication to the management of our organization.

In 2010 I would like to see more members at our monthly meetings and more “hands up” when we need help at our functions or serving on committees.  This year with your involvement in our committees chaired by Pat McGrady and John Rust III, we will work to improve business conditions in both the downtown district as well as the “Crossroads”. In 2010 we should also see a Visitors and Convention Bureau, an organization that can bring more people and business to our area.

Please watch your email for information and reminders on our meeting and upcoming projects.

Welcome to the Rossford Business Association

Nine years ago the Rossford Business Association (RBA) reorganized to support and help generate business activity in our community.  We believe that our members benefit by an active organization promoting the goods and services of our businessmen and professionals.  Over the past few years the RBA has grown dramatically and meets monthly to discuss and create projects that serve our members and the community.

We currently have committees active on several projects such as our annual Business Fair to be held at the Rossford High School on April 10, 2010.  The Business Fair gives our local businesses a showcase for their products and services in a fun and entertaining atmosphere.  The 4th annual “Fun At The Fountain” scheduled for next September, has become a community homecoming event, featuring beverages, food and entertainment.  We will continue to provide scholarships to local high school seniors pursuing educational opportunities after high school and have updated our Business Directory in 2009. (Copies can be obtained at many of our member locations.)

On the civic side the RBA has a Downtown Committee dedicated to revitalization of the downtown district.  A current project is the refurbishing of the Ford Memorial. We also have a committee working on development of the “Crossroads” in association with the developers and the retailers to bring more businesses and shoppers to our area.

If you are a business owner, manager, or a member of an organization in the Rossford area, we would invite you to become a member and an active part of the RBA.  You can view a list of our membership and meeting dates.

Sincerely,

Raymond J. Miller, Jr.
President
