RBA to host "Fun at the Fountain" on September 6

The Rossford Business Association is inviting the commu­nity to "Fun at the Fountain," on Saturday. September 6.

The second annual event will take place from 6 p.m to midnight, around the fountain on the front lawn of the city municipal building, 133 Osborn Street.

The adults-only event will feature a live band, Double Shot, which plays music from the 1970s, '80s and '90s, along with a beer garden, 50/50 raffle and food vendors Marco's Pizza and Cold Stone Creamery.

Proceeds from the $1 admission will go to the annual RBA scholarship awarded to local high school students.

Sponsors of the event are Heban and Galernik, Bay Park Community Hospital, Edward Jones, Ray Miller, First Federal, Smithers Insurance, and Drs. Henry and Kristin Green.

Six years ago, the Rossford Business Association (RBA) reorganized to support and generate business activity within the community, and capitalizes on the goods and services provided by Rossford professionals.

Over these pasts years, the RBA has grown to over 80 members who meet on a monthly basis to discuss and create projects that serve and support members of the Rossford business community and the citizens of Rossford. The RBA is currently hard at work on several key projects. One of the top priorities the RBA is the annual Business Fair to be held April 5th, 2008 at Rossford High School. Our Business Fair provides entertainment and educational opportunities for the community. This is a one day event allowing local businesses the opportunity to promote and advertise their business in a fun and entertaining atmosphere. The RBA is continuing to be a part of the downtown revitalization looking to support grant opportunities for the downtown business district. Another priority for the RBA is the Crossroads business district that is growing almost monthly. The RBA will be reaching out to those new business encouraging membership and community support.

The RBA has published a Membership Directory sponsored by Meijer that serves as a resource for local residents. Each spring, a scholarship is awarded to an area high school senior pursuing educational opportunities after high school. And looking to the fall of 2008 we will have our Second Annual “Fun at the Fountain” featuring food, fun and entertainment. If you are a business owner, manager, or member of a local organization in the Rossford area, we would like for you to become an active part of the RBA.
